It's Rosa's Will 2019 Giving Thanks Holiday Fundraiser

About The Event
The William James & Rosa Lee Little Foundation's 2019 Giving Thanks Holiday Fundraiser is an initiative involves "Embracing Family" as a communal act of love. We believe that assistance through Embracing Families who truly needs your support this holiday season will go a long way to spead the spirit of gratitude thoughout our communities.
This Thanksgiving Holiday project provides nurturance through our partnerships with you and to the William M. Boyd Elementary School, of the APS - Atlanta Public School System, by embracing homeless and/or single parent families to ensure that they have assistance with their Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner.
Research shows that, on average, families need an income of about twice that level to cover basic expenses. Using this standard, 43% of children live in low-income families. Most of these children have parents who work, but low wages and unstable employment leave their families struggling to make ends meet. Poverty can impede children’s ability to learn and contribute to social, emotional, and behavioral problems.
A single parent with two children typically needs to earn $18.36 an hour full-time—or about $38,000 a year—to provide for the family's basic needs. Yet the highest state minimum wage is $10.50 an hour, and the federal minimum wage is only $7.25.
Washington D.C. has the highest minimum wage at $14.00 per hour while California, Massachusetts, and Washington have the highest minimum wage at $12.00 per hour. Georgia's minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
Single parent families living at or below the federal poverty level do not earn enough to provide for their families. Every year, the American Farm Bureau Federation rounds up the average cost of a Thanksgiving Dinner for a family of 10 is $49.12.
A meaningful way to build with us at The William James & Rosa Lee Little Foundation as we Embrace homeless and/or single parent families this Thanksgiving is through a holiday gift donation of $5, $10, $15, $20, $30 or even whatever you are able to share. Any donation given will go toward helping us Embrace Families whose children attend the William M. Boyd Elementary School.
We have aligned our initiative with Kroger's Grocery Store and are asking for everyone's help because many working class homeless and/or single parent families aren't eligible for most poverty relief programs. Let’s partner and make a big #impact #together during #thanksgiving and provide #thanksgivingdinner this year #2019
So please join us as we Embrace Family this Thanksgiving Holiday Season by clicking on the "Donate" button at the bottom of the page. 💞
